👋🏽🤖 Hey there, Yash here!
I'm a digital product designer with a cross-industry background spanning gaming, sports, healthcare and performance marketing and encompassing platforms including web, native mobile and console, PC & mobile games.
With a foundation in digital media and design, I approach digital experience balancing functionality, human behavior, business needs, and aesthetics.
Whether it’s a large-scale game interface, a mobile app, or a data-heavy web tool, I focus on crafting systems that feel alive, cohesive, and effortless to navigate.
If you're looking for a versatile UX designer who can adapt across industries, design for multiple platforms, and bring a unique perspective to user experience, feel free to connect!
I can establish UX vision/strategy applicable across the entirety of a product rather than tactical solutioning at the individual element level.
This ensures I deliver cohesive and consistent experiences anchored to a set of central UX goals that works in tandem with business direction and user needs.
I strive to think of "the UX of UX docs" to create detailed but concise documents that are well-structured and effective yet quick to absorb.
This ensures I document my designs that people across departments want to read and apply.
I have worked not only on designing individual features but also establishing design guidelines taking into account the entirety of a product, its systems and its use-cases.
Guidelines help pave the way for other designers and future design tasks to remain consistent by setting the bounds of a given feature, as well as for members across departments to know the do's and don'ts of a given feature really well.
I have led efforts to build design systems across several organizations I worked at, including for products shared between web and mobile, as well as for the relatively uncharted territory of video games.
Impact:
Formulate a single source of truth for large design teams spanning several organizations.
Ensure consistency between products.
Ensure ease of reskinning similar assets with different styles across products.
Differentiate UI asset libraries and UX documentation for UI artists/designers and UX designers respectively.
I have acquired a breadth in work experience across:
Domains: Gaming, Sports, Performance Marketing, Healthcare
Platforms: PC/Console games, F2P Mobile games, Web SaaS, Native iOS and Android, (and even something as unique as a jumbotron screen)
Areas: UX Design, UI Design, Spatial Design
Impact:
Gives me an ability to work on various platforms and products effectively.
Enables cross-pollination of ideas - turning learnings from one industry into innovative solutions in another
Unlock a unique, cross-industry perspective on user behavior and interaction design
Identify patterns of similarities, differences and overlaps in designing for various platforms and industries.
I have acquired a depth in core design principles through:
5-year bachelor’s in design: instilled a deeper understanding of core design principles, human behavior, and usability.
2-year master’s in digital media: built richer understanding of the intersection of design, business and art in the digital realm.
This has trained me to think like a designer innately and develop an expertise in design heuristics and best practices, allowing me to create solutions that are grounded in human factors and usability science.
This process provides a general outline of how I approach design. However, it doesn’t always follow a strict linear order and can shift depending on context, project scale, or team composition.
Assess the task/brief to align on goals, success criteria and constraints.
Primarily comparative analysis to identify industry strengths and pitfalls, as well as user research - to gather user sentiments, needs and behavioral patterns.
Sketch, wireframe, mockup, prototype. I explore at multiple fidelities depending on the need - to test out early ideas.
Test internally and externally. Iterate, observe, refine.
Translate findings and decisions into clear documentation, ensuring seamless handoffs between design, dev, and QA.
Participate with cross-departmental stakeholders to identify design requirements and formulate a brief during the early stages of a given feature.
Not always part of my core responsibilities, but I’ve contributed at this stage in the past to help shape briefs, uncover gaps, and ensure the problem space is clearly defined.
